丁肇中的科学实验思想包括：科学实验主体的个性品质论、科学实验方法论和科学实验的运作管理三部分。全面、系统归纳总结丁肇中的科学实验思想能够为我们的科学研究活动(特别是科学实验)及其管理、科技人员素质的培养和提高提供理论参考。进一步在社会、个体(主要是认知)维度来探讨丁肇中的科学实验思想的形成，我们会发现：丁肇中的科学实验思想既是“大科学”时代科学时代精神的反映，同时又是丁肇中本人在科研社会交往和科研实践基础上的“个性”选择的结果。其实，思想的这一形成过程是一个思想的建构过程，就是主体、思想对象和社会文化情景三者互动、选择的过程。思想就是主体在这一过程中建构起来的东西。社会文化、主体个性特质也因此融进了思想，成为思想的合理内核——赋予思想以主体性和社会性，但这并不意味着这一建构结果(思想)就是任意的产物而缺乏客观性，相反，它从来都是客观的。
The idea of S.C.C.Ting"s scientific experiment includes the following three aspects; the participant"s personality and quality in scientific experiment, the methodology of scientific experiment and the application and management of scientific experiment. To generalize S.C.C.Ting"s idea systematically and comprehensively can provide us with theory reference in scientific research and management, especially in scientific experiment, and also for the improvement of the talents of scientists and technicians. Further exploring the forming of S.C.C.Ting"s idea from society and self-recognition shows that the idea is the reflection of era spirit in General Science Era as well as the result of individual selection on the basis of S.C.C.Ting"s social contact and practice in scientific research. Actually, the forming of his idea is the process of construct. In other words, it is the process of interaction and selection among the participants, targets and social-cultural circumstances. Social culture and participant"s personality are also blended into the idea and endow the idea with the feature of participant and society. But it doesn"t mean that the idea is constructed casually and lacks objectivity. Quite the contrary, the idea is always objective.
