面向新世纪，中国经济、社会的发展和进步已取得了令世人瞩目的成就。但，这并不必然意味着社会和谐和人民生活幸福。全球经济一体化、信息全球化、科技日新月异，以国家利益为目的的国际竞争、冲突日益剧烈；国内改革开放和社会主义市场经济的进一步深入发展，市场对资源的基础性配置作用更加明显，经济结构、利益的调整以及道德和法治的贯彻执行不力等，使得社会中诸多矛盾、问题突出。诸多大学生面对各种前所未有的越来越大的学习、生活、就业竞争压力，加之学校信仰教育中存在的问题，缺失人文关怀、精神支撑和信仰动摇而呈现出与新世纪合格公民和社会发展、国家民族的兴旺发达不相适应的诸多症状。表现为各种不同程度的心理疾患、价值观扭曲，甚至自责轻生和走上违法犯罪的歧途等，无不令人触目惊心!面对骄子的失落、世人失色的严峻事实，人们不得不反思这一切……因为这不仅涉及到大学生的健康、发展，而且事关国家、民族的未来。中国人民现阶段的奋斗目标——全面建设小康社会，不仅意味物质财富的极大富足，同时也更是人文精神的极大丰富和提升! 21世纪是科技的竞争、人才的竞争、综合国力的竞争，最终还是教育的竞争。而信仰教育却是教育的灵魂和根本，是教育的重中之重。本文立足于当前的社会现实，通过大量的调查、走访、资料查阅和留心观察，坚持实事求是、与时俱进、理论联系实际、存在决定意识的社会历史观等原则，以新时期大学生信仰的变异、原因及学校信仰教育的不力和大学生信仰教育的客观生活社会现实等作为本文的主要研究内容进行了深入的剖析、探讨和论证，从而提出反映鲜明时代特征的新世纪大学生信仰教育的科学内容和正确方法。新世纪大学生的信仰教育不仅要增强吸引力、感染力和针对性、有效性，而且还要取得实效性，就必须以“三个代表”重要思想为指导，遵循邓小平同志关于“教育要面向现代化，面向世界，面向未来”的战略指导方针；内容的基础和重点在于加强大学生的心理健康、法纪道德教育、弘扬“三个代表”重要思想；方法是要以纯洁校园为前提、由显性转向隐性、由灌输转向主体性的提问对话、力戒“左”和右的干扰、净化社会环境形成合力，使新世纪的大学生树立科学理性的信仰，形成其强大的精神支柱，保证其身心健康、热爱生活，敢于面对困难和挫折，勇于创新，成为新一代“四有”公民和保证国家繁荣、民族昌盛及全面建设小康社会的顺利实现。
In the new century, China has made great achievements in its social economic development, which surprise the whole world. However, it doesn"t mean the harmony of society and the happiness of people. The globalization of economy and information science and technology"s progress varying with the time, make the international competition and conflict became very intense. With the reform and opening policy and further development of social market economy, the basic function that market distributes and arranges natural resources seems rather obvious. The readjustment of social structure and interests and the poor implementation of morality and laws and for forth make many contradictions and problems become extremely emergent, comported with all kinds of unprecedented pressure of leaning, living and employment as well as the deficiency of belief education. In university, many college students lack human care, spiritual support, belief shaking which results in unsuitable symptoms that doesn"t as parallel to the development such of society and nation as psychological disease, value twisting, and even self-scold, suicide, etc. people are rather shocking! Faced with these stern problems, we are forced to admit that belief education is the essence and soul of education. This paper is based on all those mentioned due to those are concerned with the health of college students and the future of our nation and people. The presence goal of striving to Chinese people is to build up a well-off society that implies not only the sufficiency of material but also the advance of human spirit.21st century is the competition of science technology, talent and consideration national power. The final is the education"s competition, but it is more important that belief education is the soul and origin of it. Thereare many contents in this paper, such as making college students" problem of belief in new time, its causes, the insufficient of high school"s belief education, the objective reality which college students belief education facing, sharply reflect era characteristic of college students belief education"s science content, correct method. In the implored deep inquiry and prove process, it based upon contemporary society facts, through plenty investigation, visiting, look up information and careful observation, while stick to the objective reality, keep pace with the time, combined theory with the reality, the views on society history of the existing determined the idea, etc principles. As the main content of belief education of college students not only deserves adding attraction, appealing, influence and directness but also makes effect. Therefore we should stick to "three representative" toughly, abide by the guiding principle of education proposed by Deng Xiaoping that is said that education must faced to modernization, world and future. The base of which is the soundness of psychology. The important of which is the legal and moral education, and glorification of "three Representative". The measures of which are to purify the campus firstly to turn explicitness into implicitness, to change indoctrination into subject dialogue, and try to avoid the disturbing of "left" and "right", so as to make new-century students set up beliefs with science and rationality which ensure them have a good physically and mentally healthy, have the power of resisting set-back and hardship to make them be "four have" people, assure our country thriving, nation flourishing and make the well-off society ail-roundly smoothly become reality.
