全文共分引言、正文、余论三部分。引言简述本文选题缘起和论证视角。节日大量进入中国古典通俗小说领域,使古典小说呈现出独特的审美价值和文化价值。人们在分析个别作品时可能涉及某些节日问题,但目前尚未见到从节日民俗角度所做的通俗小说专题研究。本文试图从此角度对中国古典通俗小说中的节日描写进行深入探讨,揭示其文学功能和文化意义。正文分两大部分,对中国古典通俗小说中节日描写的文学功能进行挖掘探讨。第一部分:节日描写在中国古典通俗小说中的情节构思功能该部分首先从宏观的角度考察节日描写在小说整个情节构思中的三大功能,即它可以用来生发故事情节;推动或者延缓故事情节的发展;可以作为小说的骨架,支撑起整个情节大厦。再从微观的角度考察节日和节日故事(节日描写)的关系,即节日的类型决定了节日故事(故事情节)的类型,但随着节日的演变,不同的节日到后来也可以造就相似的节日故事类型。研究节日的类型与节日故事的类型之间的关系,可以使我们更清晰地看出节日描写在小说的局部情节构思中的功能。第二部分:节日描写在中国古典通俗小说中的寓意功能该部分从节日描写可以深化小说的主题和节日描写可以深化小说中人物形象的内涵两个方面来探讨。余论简述中国古典通俗小说中节日描写的文化意义及其所反映的作者的态度。
The whole thesis is composed of the introduction, the body and the conclusion. The introduction part gives a brief description of the reason why the topic isselected and of the angle of view which is demonstrated. As festivals, on a large scale, entered the field of Chinese classical popular fictions,these fictions have presented peculiar value of appreciation of beauty and culturalvalue. Some problems about festivals have probably been involved when severalspecific works were analyzed. However, up to now, we have never seen that someonetouched the field of monographic study on popular fictions from the angle of festivalsand folk customs. Therefore, this paper tries to, from this angle, discuss profoundly thedescription of festivals in Chinese classical popular fictions in order to reveal itsliterary function and cultural significance. The body is made up of two parts, which discuss exploringly the literary functionof festival description in these fictions. Part One: The function of plot conception of festival in Chinese classical popularfictions. To begin with, macroscopically, this part inspects the three functions of festivaldescription in the whole plot conception of the fictions. The three functions are thatfestival description can be used to make plots, to promote or postpone plots, and to bethe framework which supports the whole plot building. Then, microscopically, therelationship between festival and festival story (festival description) is discussed.That is to say, the type of festival determines the type of plot; however, as thedevelopment of festival, different festivals may mold the similar type of festival story(the plot) later on. Therefore, the study of the relationship between the type of festivaland the type of festival story enables us to see more clearly the function of festivals inthe conception of partial plot. Part Two: The function of morality of festival in Chinese classical popular fiction. This part is discussed from two aspects. The first aspect is that festival descriptioncan deepen the theme of the fiction. The second aspect is that it can deepen theconnotation of the figures in the fiction. Another theme is to briefly discuss the cultural meaning and the writers’attitudeof festival description in Chinese classical popular fictions.
