建设社会主义新农村是在新形势下促进农村经济社会全面发展的重大战略部署，全国各地的农村正发生着日新月异的变化，但由于社会上对于新农村建设的内涵产生较多的歧义，对传统乡土聚落文化认识不深，急于求成，很多优秀的传统村落难以延续。 通过考察发现，江西省乐安县流坑村以规模宏大的传统建筑、风格独特的村落布局保留至今。村内建筑类型齐全、保存完整，被专家誉为中国古代乡土聚落文明的缩影。它的景观文化内涵丰富，它的荣耀、衰败、转变、更新的过程，是南方村镇发展史的一个缩影，具有典型的研究意义。流坑村的聚落景观继承了南方聚落传统的“耕读文化”、“田园文化”与“聚落礼制文化”，很好的表达和发扬了人与自然和谐共处的景观设计思想，包含了真实的乡土村落景观设计文化经验。 在历次的变革中，流坑村逐步完善了自己变迁体系的架构。在新农村建设大潮中，它以自己的方式，使传统的乡土聚落设计文化焕发出新的生命力，并对当代社会转型中的村镇设计提供一个借鉴的范式，为当代设计所用，使乡土聚落文化架构一步步向当代转型。
The socialist construction of new rural areas is an important strategy to promote the integrated development of rural economy and society under new circumstances. Rural areas all over the nation are changing with each passing day. However, many splendid traditional villages can hardly sustain as a result of the misunderstanding of the connotation of the construction of new rural areas in the society, the superficial knowledge of the culture of splendid traditional rural settlement, as well as the desire for quick success and instant benefit. The findings of investigation show that the Liukeng village in Le"an County of Jiangxi Province has preserved its large-scale traditional buildings and stylistic layout until today. With complete building patterns and fair preservation, it is praised by many experts to be the epitome of ancient Chinese rural settlement civilization. Its landscape is rich in cultural connotation, its history of glory, decay, transition and renovation typifies the history of Southern village and small town. As a result, it has typical significance to study. The landscape of the settlement in Liukeng village carries on the culture of part-time study and part-time farming, idyll, and norm of etiquette in Southern settlement. It well expresses and promotes the idea of landscape design that man and nature exists in harmony. It contains the practical experience of landscape design of rural settlement. Liukeng village has gradually completed its structure of transitional system during the previous changes. In the tide of the construction of the new rural areas, it bears new life from the traditional design of rural settlement and provides a successful paradigm for the transitional design of village and town in the society. It can be taken in by the contemporary design and promotes the contemporary transition of the cultural structure of the rural settlement.
