自由是非常重要的一个哲学问题，古往今来无数先哲都对之进行过探索，有过各种理解。然而，从发展哲学角度理解自由，前人的论述并不完备。发展是当今时代的主题，随着发展实践的演进和发展理论的嬗变，自由已成为发展视野中一个不可回避的问题。从发展实践的演进来看，当代社会在取得辉煌进步的同时，也出现了环境污染、生态恶化、资源枯竭、人口爆炸、国家和地区之间发展不平衡等一系列与发展相关的负面问题，面对这些问题，发展观不得不进行相应的转型。近几十年来，发展观的演进清晰地显示出了从经济增长论转向综合发展论，从发展客体论转向发展主体论，从增长极限论转向可持续发展论的发展轨迹。综合发展论内含了人的自由全面发展的价值目标；发展主体论突出了人的作用，而人的本质属性是自由；可持续发展就是实现人和自然的和谐发展，实现人在自然领域的自由。可见，自由和发展是紧密相联的。本文试图运用马克思主义的立场、观点和方法，从发展哲学的角度对自由问题进行探讨。论文第一部分首先描述了人类追求自由的进程，并对历史上各种自由观点做了梳理和检讨，然后论述了马克思主义的自由观，最后探讨了当代社会发展中的自由。当代社会发展中的自由，顾名思义就是和当代社会发展相联系的自由。第二部分论述了社会发展中的自由是一个复杂的关系体系。本部分运用对立统一的方法，通过对认识的自由和实践的自由、客体的自由和主体的自由、个体的自由和群体的自由、目的的自由和手段的自由、消极的自由和积极的自由及过程的自由和结果的自由这六对自由的探讨，来阐释自由这一复杂的关系体系。第三部分探讨了当代社会发展中的自由的诸多维度。自由是包括经济、政治、文化等各方面关系在内的社会关系中的自由，因此，本部分分别从经济自由的维度、政治自由的维度和思想文化自由的维度论述了当代社会发展中的自由。第四部分分析了人的自由追求和社会发展的互动关系，认为人的自由全面发展既是社会发展的终极价值又是社会发展的核心动力，最后，探讨了实现人的自由而全面发展的具体方式与途径。
Freedom is a very important philosophical problem, and many sages have pondered on it all of ages and they have all kinds of understandings. However, comprehending freedom from the perspective of developmental philosophy is rarely mature previously. Development is the topic of our era, and with the evolution of developmental practice and the transformation of developmental theory, freedom has become an inevitable problem in the domain of development. Viewing from the perspective of developmental practice’s evolution, while we make glorious progress in social development at contemporary era, we also has created a series of negative problems related to development such as environmental pollution, ecological deterioration, drying up of resource, population explosion, developmental imbalance between nations and districts, as a result, our theory on development has to be transformed. During these decades, the evolution of developmental theory clearly displays a developing track from economic increase theory to synthesized developmental theory, from development object ism to development subject ism, from increase limitation ism to sustainable development theory. The synthesized developmental theory includes the value goal of free and full development of the people; the development subject ism emphasized the effect of the people, while the essential property of the people is freedom; sustainable development is to actualize the harmonious development of people and nature, and in turn, to actualize people’s freedom in nature. So, freedom and development is closely related. Standing on Marxist standpoint, employing Marxist viewpoint and using Marxist methods, this article try to probe the problem of freedom from the perspective of developmental philosophy. The first part of this article describes the process of people’s seeking after freedom first of all, and combs and reviews all kinds of freedom isms in the history, then expounds Marxist freedom theory, in the end, this article discusses the freedom in contemporary social development. The freedom in contemporary social development, just as it’s name implies, is the freedom related to contemporary social development.The second part expounds that freedom in contemporary social development is a complex relationship system. With the method of dialectical contradiction and unity, this part expatiates the complex relationship system of freedom by discussing cognitive freedom and practicing freedom, object’s freedom and subject’s freedom, ends’ freedom and means’ freedom, negative freedom and positive freedom, process’s freedom and result’s freedom.The third part discusses a good many dimensionalities of freedom in contemporary social development. Since freedom is the freedom in social relations including economic, political, cultural etc. relations, this part discusses freedom in contemporary social development from the dimensionality of economic, political and cultural freedom respectively.The forth part analyses the interactive relationship between people’s freedom seeking and social development, and considers free and full development of the people is not only the final value of social development, but also the core driving force of social development, in the end, this part discusses the ways and approaches used to actualize people’s free and full development.
