价值观是一个文化系统的核心，作为文化载体的中国近代知识阶层，他们以比较理性地评估中国传统价值观宋体现对社会的人文关怀。这其中更有自身从传统知识阶层到新型知识分子的转变过程，即在与西方文化广泛接触的长时间里逐渐形成自己价值观的过程。 本文运用托马斯·库恩(Thomas Kuhn)的“范式”(Paradigm)理论，以群体为研究对象，梳理了与中心价值观紧密相联的学术变迁的时代特征。在个案研究中，从自由主义的鼻祖——严复到对胡适的分析，显示了先哲们中西合璧的价值观；而陈独秀与李大钊的比较研究，更让近代知识分子这一群体价值转型的特点鲜明与完整。 在清末民初的价值抉择中，东风与西风孰强孰弱的问题文章也进行了初步的学理阐释，并且针对中国近代知识分子的价值探索，对传统价值观“现代性转换”的向度问题提出了思考。
View on value is the core of a cultural system. As the culture carrier, the Chinese modern intellectual groups evaluate their traditional views on value rationally, which embody then- humane concern society, also present the transition process from traditional intellectual groups to new intellectuals, that is the process of their own value which come into being step by step during a long time that contacted with western culture.The thesis uses the Paradigm Theory of Thomas Kuhn, with the groups as their study objects, which showed the academic characteristics of their age that tightly connected with the central view on value. In the individual research of the ancestor of liberalism, from Yen Fu to Hu Shi, it shows the views on value of the combination between the western and eastern culture, however, the comparison study between Chen DuXiu and Li DaZhao makes it more clear and complete.In the value choices, from late Qing Dynasty to early Min Guo, the thesis also explain the topic on which is the stronger between the western and the eastern, furthermore, with the basis on value achievements of the Chinese modern intellectuals, it sets forth its own ideas concerns with the traditional value opinions.
