在中国学术发展历程中,清代学术是一个承前启后、极其重要的阶段,它上启宋明理学,下开现代学术。一方面,此时的中国面临着数千年来所未有的大变局,西方的列强凭借着船坚炮利的优势,既把空前的民族危机带给了中国,又将一个和中国固有文明截然相异的西方文明强行地输入,不断冲击着古老的中华文明;另一方面,中国的古典学术演进至此,绚烂至极,清代学者业已取得了集大成的光辉成就。在这种情势之下,民国时期的学者兴起了一股整理清代学术的热潮:章太炎、刘师培、徐世昌、冯友兰和胡适等。而其中尤以梁启超与钱穆的成果最为显著。 本文通过研究背景;“近三百年”概念之述略;梁、钱二著之相同志趣;在岭南文化与吴越文化之冲撞下的梁启超、钱穆两部同名著《中国近三百年学术史》;梁、钱二人的师承对梁、钱二著的影响;启蒙与救亡之于反动与导源;梁启超、钱穆两部同名著《中国近三百年学术史》的影响及其他;余论等几部分来对梁启超、钱穆之两部同名著《中国近三百年学术史》进行比较、分析、论述;由于学术史作者的学术背景、学术师承、学术志趣、学术经历等等差异;使得他们在著述时做出了不同的阐发、料理、取舍、藏否;由是也产生了两部风格迥异、千差万别的学术史。
