As a newspaper of high prestige, The New York Times has a history of over one hundred years. It is also a long time since the birth of the special sections of The New York Times .The special sections of The New York Times didn"t grew fine in the former one hundred years because they were restricted by many subjective and objective factors. They got liberation and developing space until American social economy made great progress, readers" market reached maturity and newspaper office determined to reform. From the development of the special sections of The New York Times, the dissertation attempts to summarize the successful operating methods of them, and also makes a further analysis on the characteristics of them. In addition, the developing tendency on the special sections of The New York Times is concluded in the dissertation. The valuable experience has practical guiding significance to the special sections of our country. According to the current situation, our country"s newspaper can critically assimilate whatever is beneficial in the special sections of The New York Times. Then the special sections of our country can promote the reform and prosperity of itself.
