本论文通过对重庆市就业现状的分析并结合国内外就业形势，指出研究重庆市就业的现实必要性和紧迫性。在对城镇就业的分析中充分肯定了直辖以来重庆市在城镇就业方面取得的巨大成就，同时指出由于受历史等各方面因素的制约，目前及未来的一段时间里重庆市将面临着巨大的城镇就业压力。在对农村就业问题的分析中也充分肯定了直辖以来重庆市在农村就业方面取得的成就，同时指出农村就业问题的根本性与长远性；运用数学模型对重庆市农村剩余劳动力进行了估算，指出解决重庆市农村就业问题的根本在于农村剩余劳动力的转移。在对重庆市城镇和农村就业分析的基础上，本论文最后从近期对策与长期对策两方面提出了一些解决重庆市就业问题的措施与建议。
Combining the domestic and international employment situation, this paper points out the urgency and realistic necessity of studying Chongqing city employment through the analysis for Chongqing present city employment situation. In the analysis for town employment the author has affirmed fully the huge achievement Chongqing city has gotten in the aspect of town employment since it is directly under the jurisdiction, at the same time pointed out that because of the restriction of many factors such as history , now and in the future, Chongqing city will be faced with huge town employment pressure. In the analysis for rural employment problem the author has also affirmed fully the achievement that Chongqing city gets in the aspect of rural employment since direct jurisdiction, at the same time, pointed out the longtermness and the ultimacy of rural employment problem; With mathematics model for Chongqing city, estimation of surplus rural labour has been carried out and the author points out the foundation of solving Chongqing city rural employment problem lies in the transfer of surplus rural labour. On the foundation of Chongqing city town and rural employment analysis, from both aspects of recent and long-term countermeasure , this paper has put forward some measures and suggestions that solves Chongqing city employment problem.
