本文从沈从文的精神历程、社会历史与他的互动关系出发，探寻沈从文创作的发展演变，以《边城》阶段与《长河》阶段创作为代表，总观沈从文的文学创作，对沈从文的作品在指向人类永恒精神家园和对现代化进行解毒的层面给予肯定的评价。 沈从文的精神历程的演变及他对传统与现代的认识分四阶段： 一、渴望现代文明，走出乡村走向城市。 二、乡村与都市文明的初度交锋，心理靠拢传统乡村，排斥都市文明，怀念湘西美好人性。 三、完美理想与现实的冲突，《边城》的创作。 四、再看传统与现代，发现乡村社会的迟滞保守，面对现代侵袭的无力，强调历史的变。 沈从文是现代化的反思者，他的作品是超越性与现实性的统一，是对现代化进行解毒，具有永恒的文学价值。
The thesis is setting out from.Shen Congwen"s spirited course,and social history"s action with each other.lt wants to explore the development of Shen Congwen"s writing.The Border District stage and The Long River stage are deputies, from them to see Shen Congwen"s literary and artistic creation. The thesis give Shen Congwen"s works an affirmative appraise because it pointed to mankind eternal Spirit homeland and relieved modernization"s poison for human nature.The development of She Congwen"s spirited course and the understanding of tradition and modern divide into four stage:The first, he thirsted for modern crvilization and came out from village to city .The second,village first confronted with city civilization.His mentality was clostd to tradition village, excluded city civilization and cherished the memory of glorious human nature of Xiangxi.The third,perfect ideal conflicted with reality. Shen Congwen created out The Border District The fourth to see tradition and mordem again,he found village society"s slow-moving and conservativeness, and lack Strength when it face to modern invasion.."He emphasized th change of history.Shen Congwen is thinking a lot about modernize.His works unite oversteping quality and reality quality .The works relieve modrnizations poison for human nature,and have a eternal literary value.
