本文以晚清货币制度的变迁为切入点，系统考察晚清币制变迁的历史轨迹，分析推动与影响币制变迁的诸种因素，力图对晚清的币制及其变迁有一个全面、总体的认识和客观的评价。 鸦片战争后，中国对外逐渐开放，国内国际贸易扩大，资本主义进一步发展，传统经济下的旧币制已越来越不适应社会经济发展的需要，迫切需要向近代币制变迁。晚清币制变迁的主线是：银两制度向银元制度的变迁，制钱制度向铜元制度的变迁，清末新型纸币的发行流通也是晚清币制变迁的一部分内容。推动与影响币制变迁的有多重因素，如货币自身演变规律和经济发展的客观要求、西学东渐意识形态渗透的扩大、洋务运动机器大生产的出现、外币的流通、利益的驱动等。在利益驱动因素分析里，运用新制度经济学的理论研究，得出晚清币制变迁主要是诱致性变迁的结论。 晚清的币制变迁奠定了近代货币制度的基础，对于中国币制近代化具有积极的意义。受晚清社会处在国家转型期的环境影响，晚清币制变迁是不彻底、不完善的。我们可以得出如下结论：经济改革必须和政治改革结合起来，腐朽的清王朝在政治制度没有发生根本变化的情况下，任何经济改革都会受到严重的制约，难以取得预期的结果。
Through the systematic investigation on transition of the currency system in late Qing Dynasty, this thesis analyzes the various factors that pushing and influencing it. The author tends to make a comprehensive and objective evaluation upon the transition of the currency system.After the Opium War, with the gate of country opened, the domestic and international trade extending and the imperialism developing, the traditional currency system couldn"t meet the development of the society and economy gradually and need to change urgently. The main clue of the transition of the currency system included the transition from the sycee system to the silver dollar system, from copper cash system to the copper coin system and the circulation of the new-typed paper currency. The various factors to push and influence the transition of the currency system in late Qing Dynasty were as fellow: the law of currency evolution and the objective demand of economy development, the input of Western culture, the emergency of machine manufacture during Yangwu Movement, the circulation of the foreign currency and the drive of profit, and so on. The thesis draws a conclusion that the transition of the currency system in late Qing Dynasty is the spontaneous transition through using the economic theory.As the base of the modern currency system, the transition of the currency system late Qing Dynasty had an active effect on modernizing the currency system of China. Because the society in late Qing Dynasty was in transformation, the transition of the currency system was not sound. We can draw a conclusion that the economic reform must combine with political reform. Any economic reform would be restricted badly and unsuccessful under the condition of the political system of the decayed Qing Dynasty unchanged essentially.
